The Metal Toy Soldiers of | Wm. Hocker, Proprietor |
The glitter, peculiarities and variety of the home service uniforms of the Victorian Army make it the ideal subject for toy soldiers. In 1897, on the occasion of Queen Victoria's 60th year on the throne, a grand celebration takes place in London, an event that will come to symbolize the very zenith of the British Empire. Here are representatives from each of the various types of regiments within the army: Household Cavalry, Dragoon Guards, Dragoons, Lancers and Hussars, Guards, Line Infantry, Highlanders, Rifles, Fusiliers and Light Infantry. In addition are representatives of the Royal Artillery, Royal Horse Artillery, Royal Navy and Marines as well as the Colonial contingents to the procession. |
