Wm Hocker | Boer War

The Metal Toy Soldiers of

  Wm. Hocker, Proprietor

By 1899 the Dutch-descended Boer farmers of the South African veldt have finally had enough of the ever-colonizing British. The Boers attack, and the British become entangled in their greatest war since the defeat of Napoleon. The entire might of the British Army is barely enough for an inconclusive victory against the mobile guerrilla tactics and superior weapons of the Boer Commandos. In the process British Imperial ambition has been brought to a standstill by a handful of farmers, and the fall of the British Empire has begun.
