"Tintypes"

I am beginning a series of portraits of Wm. Hocker individual figures from the sets in my collection in the spirit of Victorian carte-de-visites. Each figure will have a personal name and historical context. I hope that by singling out figures from their sets they will take on a new life for collectors. I have used the name "tintypes" to suggest not only photography but also the making of metal toy soldiers.
